Hong Kong documentary "To Be Continued" screened in New York

Movie lovers attended a private screening of the Hong Kong documentary "To Be Continued" on April 2. Co-organized by Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York (New York ETO) and Hong Kong Association of New York, the event featured the film producer Paul Chan, who was in town after attending the Asian Pop-Up Cinema (APUC) in Chicago where the documentary was screened. The documentary is one of nine outstanding Hong Kong productions featured at this season of APUC with support from the New York ETO.

During the post-screening Q&A session, Paul shared insights into this captivating documentary about the grassroots effort to save the iconic State Theatre in North Point, Hong Kong, and the legendary life of its founder Harry Odell. He also explored how heritage can be linked to cultural tourism, as well as the novel concept of “Tourism is Everywhere in Hong Kong”.

Co-produced by the Hong Kong Community Heritage Foundation and Walk in Hong Kong, the documentary celebrates Hong Kong’s vibrant cultural history and resilient spirit. Since its premiere at the Hong Kong International Film Festival in 2023, it has been screened worldwide to critical acclaim.
