Hong Kong, Shenzhen look to further cooperation

Hong Kong Chief Secretary for Administration Carrie Lam and Mayor of the Shenzhen Municipal Government Xu Qin co-chaired the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Cooperation Meeting in Hong Kong on February 29.

Mrs. Lam noted the progress on various areas of cooperation between the two governments and expressed her wish that the two sides deepen their cooperation in the coming year.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the progress of cooperation and the direction for future cooperation in areas including innovation and technology, creative industries, financial services, professional services, youth cooperation and cooperation in Qianhai’s development.

Three cooperation agreements were also signed after the meeting. They included an arrangement for trial implementation of the Hong Kong construction model in the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone of Shenzhen, the promotion of cooperation in creative industries, and an arrangement between the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of Hong Kong and the Shenzhen Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau on aquatic animal disease laboratory diagnosis.
