Series of East Coast college talks aims to attract U.S. talent

HKETONY hosts Hong Kong Welcomes U talk at eight Ivy League colleges from Feb 29 to Mar 3.

Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York (HKETONY) hosted a series of “HK Welcomes U” roving talks at eight colleges on the East Coast, including Ivy League universities, to promote various measures for attracting U.S. talent to work and live in Hong Kong.

The roving talks were held at Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, New York University, Yale University, Boston University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University from February 29 through March 3.

A team from Hong Kong Immigration Department, led by Assistant Principal Immigration Officer Henry Wong, spoke at the talks,  explaining the details of the Admission Scheme for the Second Generation of Chinese Hong Kong Permanent Residents; the relaxation of the arrangements for Entrants under the General Employment Policy program; the enhancement measures of the Quality Migrant Admissions Scheme; and the consideration factors under the General Employment Policy Investment Stream.

The team also met with the New York-based Chinese media, as well as local Chinese leaders and media in Boston.
