Dragon boats roar for 20A in Boston

Athletes, paddling in synchronized rhythm to drum beats, raced towards the finishing line on the Charles River at the 38th Boston Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival the weekend of June 10-11. Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, New York (HKETONY) is the title sponsor of the festival, which saw a record 75 teams competing.

This year’s festival featured a special 20th anniversary race to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Director of HKETONY Steve Barclay presented the trophy and congratulated the winning team of the 20A race – CYPN Storm. HKETONY set up a booth at the festival site, with special 20A souvenirs for racers and spectators.

Director of HKETONY Steve Barclay dotted the eyes for the dragon boats, which marked the start of the races.
