Director visits Nashville and Atlanta

Director of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York Steve Barclay highlighted the advantages of doing business in Hong Kong to government officials and business executives during his visit to Nashville and Atlanta (June 12-13). Details here.

Addressing over 40 executives at a Nashville luncheon, hosted by the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and the TN-China Network at Frost Brown Todd Law Firm, Mr Barclay also spoke on the current landscape in Hong Kong, the position of Hong Kong in relation to the opening and growth of the Mainland Chinese market, FDI flows, and effects of Brexit. While in Nashville, Mr. Barclay also met with President of Nashville Chamber of Commerce Ralph Schulz and discussed the latest developments in Hong Kong and Nashville, trends of the business developments in both places, and challenges such as growing a competitive work force to sustain business growth.

During his visit to the Peach State, Mr Barclay met with officials from Georgia Department of Economic Development, including Deputy Commissioner for International Trade Mary Waters and Deputy Commissioner for International Relations and Chief of Protocol Abby Turano. They discussed business opportunities for Georgia businesses and Hong Kong-Georgia trade which has increased by 75% this year. He also spoke at a luncheon at the World Trade Center Atlanta, providing the latest update on Hong Kong's developments and opportunities for US businesses. Close to 70 professionals from financial services, public trade and consulting attended the luncheon.
