The Basic Law inspires creative art pieces

Twenty five innovative artwork pieces by students of the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) are currently on display at the roving "Discover the Basic Law" exhibition. The art works include illustrations, typographic design, sculptures, motion graphics as well as interactive installations.

The exhibition is organized by the Information Services Department in partnership with the HKDI to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the promulgation of the Basic Law, the mini-constitution of the city.

Officiating at the May 16 opening ceremony, Mrs. Carrie Lam, Hong Kong Chief Secretary for Administration, said the 'Discover the Basic Law' multi-media interactive art exhibition offers visitors a fresh perspective in understanding the Basic Law.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the promulgation of the Basic Law, the Hong Kong Government has organized an array of activities with the aim of promoting in the community a comprehensive and correct understanding of the Basic Law. “Such an understanding is crucial to giving the Basic Law its full play to maintain Hong Kong's unique strengths,” said Mrs. Lam.

Details of all artwork can be found on the "Discover the Basic Law" website: www.discoverthebasiclaw.gov.hk.
