Hong Kong Celebrates Massachusetts 2014

Hong Kong and Massachusetts have all along enjoyed very close ties. With the historic visit to Hong Kong by Deval Patrick, Governor of Massachusetts in December 2013, Massachusetts exported US$1.76 billion worth of goods to Hong Kong last year, representing a growth of close to 150% compared to 2012.

Massachusetts companies have also established a long presence in Hong Kong – for instance, State Street, Liberty Mutual Insurance and Fidelity have all chosen Hong Kong as the location of their regional head offices. Universities in Massachusetts have strong links with Hong Kong too. Harvard University, MIT, Boston University and Tufts University, etc have all established a vibrant alumni community in Hong Kong over the years.

Hosted by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, New York in June 2014, Hong Kong Celebrates Massachusetts 2014 showcases the growing business and cultural ties between Hong Kong and Massachusetts as well as Hong Kong’s creativity, entrepreneurship, and cultural and economic vitality.

The celebrations are also in partnership with Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Cathay Pacific Airways, Hong Kong Association of Massachusetts, the Museum of Fine Arts, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, and Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in Boston.
