Ruby Yang, an Oscar-winning Hong Kong filmmaker, premiered her short documentary “In Search of Perfect Consonance” (2016) at the Chelsea Film Festival in New York on October 14.

The premiere was supported by Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York.

Her latest work explores the universal theme of finding peace through music. The subjects were young members of the Hong Kong-based Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO), who collaborated and performed on stage despite their personal struggles and cultural differences.

Ms. Yang said she was inspired by the dedicated efforts of AYO conductor and founder Richard Pontzious in fostering peace through music.
