Australian fintech company sets up regional headquarters

Austreme founder Terence Chau.

Australian fintech company Austreme, which specializes in brand protection, big data and website security, is establishing its regional headquarters in Hong Kong, in preparation for its global expansion in the coming years.

Austreme founder Terence Chau said this is a strategic move for the company to get access to the global fintech market. The new regional headquarters will cater to the needs of Hong Kong clients and also support the company’s offices being planned in mainland China, the U.S. and Europe. Austreme also launched its Centre of Excellence in Hong Kong to enhance efforts in global brand protection and transaction laundering detection with more analysts to be recruited and trained.

Noting that Hong Kong is well-connected with the global financial world and the city’s strong advantage for wide adaptation of Internet transactions across many sectors, Mr. Chau said, “These make it an ideal foothold for our company to introduce to global clients our state-of-the-art security, risk, compliance and fraud management solutions much needed for credit card transactions and related proceedings.”
