HKETONY director fosters ties with Atlanta

Director of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, New York (HKETONY) Steve Barclay visited Atlanta on July 6-8 to promote business and cultural ties between Hong Kong and the Peach State.

He met with Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau CEO William Pate; Atlanta Sports Council Executive Director Dan Corso; Georgia Deputy Commissioner for Film, Music and Entertainment Lee Thomas; Georgia Deputy Commissioner for Tourism Kevin Langston and Atlanta Center for International Arbitration and Mediation Executive Director Shelby Grubbs. Mr. Barclay discussed issues of mutual interest on tourism, sports, entertainment and arbitration.

Mr. Barclay also met with City Councilman Kwanza Hall to discuss a wide array of topics, ranging from public housing, light rail and land usage to city budgets and Hong Kong's electoral process. In an interview on the Pro Business Channel, Mr. Barclay highlighted business opportunities for entrepreneurs to expand in Hong Kong.

Speaking to students of the International Center at Georgia State University, Mr. Barclay highlighted the qualities that make Hong Kong attractive to students looking for work and study opportunities. More than 100 students and staff attended the talk.
