HKIA named 'Airport of the Year'

Hong Kong International Airport wins accolades for its innovative passenger services.

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) was once again recognized by Air Transport World as the “Airport of the Year” for its excellent partnership with airline customers, environmentally friendly operational practices, innovative passenger services and strong working relationships with local authorities, allowing the airport to deliver excellence and drive Hong Kong’s economic growth.

Chairman of Airport Authority Hong Kong Jack So said this is a great honor for both the airport and the people of Hong Kong. He also thanked the 73,000 staff members working at HKIA for their dedication in making it the world’s leading airport.

With a commitment to enhance HKIA’s facilities, the Midfield Concourse, which can serve an additional 10 million passengers each year, commenced operations in December. HKIA will also continue with the expansion of the airport into a three-runway system to meet future traffic demands.
