Chicago gala pays tribute to Yau's film career

Prolific and award-winning Hong Kong director Herman Yau received Asian Pop-Up Cinema’s inaugural Pinnacle Award in recognition of an impressive career that has spanned three decades and resulted in many film industry awards.

Held in Chicago on May 20, the award ceremony was followed by a screening of his film “Ip Man: The Final Fight” (2013). The movie won the Bronze Prize at the Udine Far East Film Festival in 2014.

Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York Director Steve Barclay congratulated Mr. Yau for his distinguished contribution to Asian cinema. HKETONY was one of the presenters.
