Chief Executive meets with visiting U.S. senator

Chief Executive C.Y. Leung (right) meets the visiting member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Cory Gardner, at the Chief Executive's Office on August 21 to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.

In the summer, Hong Kong Chief Executive C.Y. Leung met with U.S. Senator Cory Gardner, who sits on the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.

Mr. Leung said that Hong Kong and the U.S. enjoy close economic and trade ties.

As an international finance and trade center, Hong Kong can act as a “super-connector” for U.S. enterprises to connect with the markets both in mainland China and across Asia and create more business opportunities.

The Chief Executive said he hoped Hong Kong and the U.S. could continue to maintain exchanges and contact on various fronts.
