Three New York nonprofits — Charles B. Wang Community Health CenterQueens Botanical Garden and Chinatown YMCA — are the beneficiaries of the 25th Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in New York (HKDBF-NY) charity fund this year.

The three organizations received a total of US$7,500 from the winning teams of the 2015 HKDBF-NY Charity Boat Race: DCH Auto Group, Flushing Bank and HSBC.

Speaking at a brief check-presentation ceremony on October 7, Director of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, New York (HKETONY) Steve Barclay said the racing teams and sponsors had donated more than US$200,000 to local charities over the last 24 years. He looked forward to their continued support to making the HKDBF-NY a successful community, sporting and cultural event.

The HKDBF-NY next year is tentatively scheduled for August 6-7. HKETONY is the title sponsor of the festival.
