Hong Kong ranks among world's top 3 financial hubs

Hong Kong is one of the world's top three financial hubs.

Hong Kong has been ranked third, after London and New York, in the latest Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI 18), released in September by Z/Yen Group, London's leading commercial think tank.

London climbed 12 points in the ratings to lead New York by eight points. The GFCI is on a scale of 1,000 points, and thus a lead of eight is fairly insignificant. New York is now 33 points ahead of Hong Kong. The index, which ranks 84 financial centers worldwide, was based on factors such as human capital, infrastructure and reputation, as well as responses to an online survey by financial-services executives.
