Dance festival, dragon boat race foster cultural ties

Hong Kong Commissioner for Economic and Trade Affairs, USA, Clement Leung spoke to the strengths of the East-meets-West culture in Hong Kong and the development of the West Kowloon Cultural District at the season-opening gala dinner of the 82nd Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival on June 14. More than 600 guests attended the dinner reception in Becket, Mass.

The Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival is America’s longest-running international dance festival and is one of the most prestigious dance festivals in the world.

On June 15, at the 35th Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in Boston, which Mr. Leung officiated, a total of 62 teams from various states in the New England region competed in the races held on the Charles RiverA number of world-renowned institutions such as Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Boston University are located along the river.
