Women's Commission leader shares views at New York luncheon

Chairwoman of the Hong Kong Women’s Commission Stella Lau gave an update on the rights and employment of women in Hong Kong during a luncheon in New York on March 11.

The luncheon was co-hosted by Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, New York (HKETONY), and the Hong Kong Association of New York.

Mrs. Lau, accompanied by Deputy Secretary for Labour and Welfare of Hong Kong Doris Cheung, and Assistant Secretary for Labour and Welfare Noel Ng, was in town March 9-14 to attend the 58th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women at United Nations headquarters.

The luncheon talk was well attended by women leaders in the fields of education, banking and think tanks in the U.S., as well as representatives from a number of prominent women's organizations. Acting Director of HKETONY Paul Cheung gave welcoming remarks at the luncheon.
