New York's Asian-American diversity celebrated

The Asian Pacific American Heritage Reception at Asia Society on May 2.

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office New York (HKETONY) sponsored the Asian Pacific American Heritage Reception at Asia Society to celebrate the diversity and dynamism of Asian-Americans in New York City, in collaboration with BNY Mellon on May 2. More than 850 guests, mainly young professionals, attended the event.

During the reception, which was held to echo the city’s Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month, HKETONY promoted Hong Kong’s dynamic status as Asia’s World City and its cosmopolitan culture. HKETONY also highlighted the city’s innovative spirit and evolving attractions.

New York City is home to the highest Chinese-American population of any city in the U.S., with over 500,000 Chinese-American residents, many with Hong Kong origins.
