| Hong Kong Commissioner for Economic and Trade Affairs, USA, Donald Tong (right), called on Georgia Governor Nathan Deal on February 14 during the commissioner’s visit to Atlanta.
At the meeting, Mr. Tong gave an update on the Hong Kong economy, noting that the territory has seen significant improvements on many fronts, including GDP, imports and exports, as well as air and sea cargo.
Georgia's exports to Hong Kong totaled US$735 million in 2010 making Hong Kong Georgia’s 10th largest export destination.
Mr. Tong also informed Governor Deal of the positive first-year enrollment numbers for the Hong Kong campus of the Savannah College of Arts and Design. The Georgia-based university opened its Hong Kong campus in September 2010. |
