Miami mayor honors city's ties with Hong Kong

The Mayor of Miami, Tomas P. Regalado, presented a proclamation to Hong Kong Commissioner for Economic and Trade Affairs, USA, Donald Tong, in recognition of his outreach efforts to promote trade, economic and cultural ties between Hong Kong and Miami.
During his meeting with Mayor Regalado, Mr. Tong provided an update on recent developments in Hong Kong, especially on the latest economic performances and Hong Kong’s role as China’s global financial center and an offshore center for renminbi businesses.
Mr. Tong also spoke on Hong Kong’s advantages as Miami’s business partner at a luncheon co-organized by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York and the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB). The Miami luncheon was attended by more than 70 business executives.
At the invitation of HKTB, Mr. Tong officiated at a reception at the Hong Kong booth of the Seatrade Cruise Shipping Miami conference at the Miami Beach Convention Center, where he spoke about the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal development.
