Hong Kong remains the world's freest economy, according to the findings of the Economic Freedom of the World 2011 Annual Report released September 20 by the Cato Institute and published by Canada's Fraser Institute.

The Global Geoparks Network (GGN), which is supported by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), announced its acceptance of Hong Kong National Geopark as a member of the GGN at the 10th European Geoparks Conference in Langesund, Norway on September 17.

Hong Kong Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Gregory So congratulated seasoned Hong Kong actress Deanie Ip for winning the Coppa Volpi award for Best Actress at the 68th Venice International Film Festival on September 10 in Italy.
