Hong Kong students take part in
2008 Youth U.S. space camp

Director of the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in New York Monica Chen (center) met with 50 Hong Kong students, ranging from age 9 to 19, during their visit to New York City in mid-August. The students were part of the 2008 Youth U.S. Space Camp program, organized by the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers, in cooperation with the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. This is the second year that such a program has been organized.

The purpose of this program is to inspire students to appreciate, learn about and enjoy space exploration and associated technologies. It also aims to stimulate the students’ interest in the study of math, science and technology through the excitement of the U.S. Space Program. In addition to New York City, the group also visited Washington D.C., Los Angeles and the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
