Hong Kong welcomes Year of the Ox
Hong Kong Financial Secretary John C. Tsang (second from right) officiates at the opening ceremony of the Cathay Pacific International New Year Night Parade on January 26. This year’s parade featured a total of 39 floats and performing groups from 12 countries and regions. This was the 14th year the HKTB held the Chinese New Year celebrations. Cathay Pacific Airways was the title sponsor of this year’s event for the 11th consecutive year, while American Express International, Inc. sponsored the Parade route for the second year running.
Fireworks over Victoria Harbour was part of the Chinese New Year celebrations in Hong Kong.
